Good to see so many folks from Bristol going along. You may even outnumber the Brightonians this year, which is cool. It would be good to meet some of your lot before things kick off, so it's traditional to head over to Buffelo Billiards the night before the event, when everybody starts flying in.

I hope some of you can make it along to the Great British Booze-up on Monday evening. It's generally regarded as the one of the best events of the conference even if I do say so myself.

Look forward to meeting you there. I remember meeting some cool like-minded people from Bristol last year..

There are around 15 of us heading from Brighton.

Here's to a successful SxSw 09 convention!

The participants for the Arts Council trip filled in an application which went to a national panel. They were selected on the quality of their application, although the panel also tried to make sure there was good coverage across regions and art form.

The South West Screen trip was also by application and judged by a panel from South West Screen, Bristol Music Foundation and iShed. Again, the strength of the application was the deciding factor, as well as the case made by the companies for how they would use the opportunity to benefit their business.

As South by South West interactive has a strong gaming element to its programme, I would expect a high proportion of people working with games to apply. Both delegations have broad representation across people working in many different areas of digital media.
